![]() Dr. Norman HungerfordDr. Norman Hungerford has been an influential presence in New Jersey landscape and horticulture for over 35 years. The founder of Marlboro Flower and Garden Center in Marlboro New Jersey, Dr. Hungerford brings his philosophy of creative and cost effective landscape designs to each of his projects, working with his clients to achieve their decorative vision while staying within the budget. A participant since its launch in 2007, Dr. Hungerford will be contributing his expertise to Stately Homes by-the-Sea for the third time. Commenting on his previous experiences with the Show House he said, “The whole show house process was inspiring. It offered the opportunity to stretch your wings and do things you might not otherwise be able to do—which is rare in the landscaping business.” A native of the Catskills region of New York, Dr. Hungerford received a BS in Forestry from Syracuse University and an MS in Forestry from University of Michigan. Following a tour of duty in Europe with the United States Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Captain, Dr. Hungerford returned to Syracuse University and earned a Ph.D in Forestry and Environmental Science. After several years in the corporate environment, working with International Paper Company, Dr. Hungerford struck out to pursue his passion for the outdoors by creating his own company. Dr. Hungerford is also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Monmouth County Historical Association. In his leisure time, he enjoys literature, collects fine porcelain and crystal and is a gourmet cook. Designed by inVisual |
